Know Yourself through Your Writing HANDWRITING ANALYSIS/ GRAPHOLOGY
Handwriting analysis or graphology is the study of the frozen graphics of printing and cursive writing to determine personality traits. An analogous study would be the projective technique of body language. Whereas handwriting represents how a person feels privately, the person's signature represents the public image which the writer wants to project. Therefore, a big difference between a person's writing and their signature indicates a big difference between their private and public self. When the writing and the signature are identical, then "what you see is what you get" and the person presents themselves identical to how they feel inside. Femininity, masculinity, maturity and immaturity can be present in the handwriting of someone no matter the gender or age. Graphology or handwriting analysis cannot be used to predict the future. Physical movement is an expression of personality and handwriting is a particularly unique sort of movement for which fine motor skills and great concentration are required. Handwriting is also construed as brain writing since it serves as a mirror of a person’s thoughts both the conscious and subconscious Handwriting Indicators • Slope of Baseline • Slant of individual letters / words • General Angularity / Roundness of the handwriting • Shape of individual letters / numbers • Distance between letters • Distance between words • Distance between lines • Margins you choose (Left, Right, Top and Bottom) • Height of general letters • Width of general letters No single indicator totally defines a person.
